President of Asylo tou Paidiou

«Asylo tou Paidiou», one of the oldest academic institutions of Thessaloniki, is about to complete 100 years of Life, 100 years of Contribution to the working mother and its children.

Since its first day of operation in 1919, Asylo started amidst wars, earthquakes, and enormous economic hardships without interruption -not even for a single day. Despite all adversities, Asylo kept on providing quality education, teaching ethos, providing board and lodging to children in need, supporting them and their families. Today, the volunteers and educators of Asylo offer their love and affection to the kids of Thessaloniki so as to help them build a strong character in order to continue their studies at the Gymnasium level and enjoy equal opportunities like all other children.

Asylo offers the unique «Free Time Educational Program», which earned an award from the Academy of Athens. This is an innovative, diverse, and child-driven pedagogical method which opens new horizons to the children that choose to follow it.

It is a real honor that I was chosen to be at the helm of such an important Institution. I am grateful that my days at Asylo are always full of energy so as to execute all the daily tasks. Equally important, I feel great satisfaction when we manage to accomplish all our objectives to the benefit of the greater family of Asylo tou Paidiou.

May I wish that Asylo will be able to continue its successful path in the years to come. I do hope that our children will keep on making us proud with their future achievements.
